Parrot Species

Parrots are found on all tropical and subtropical continents along with Australia and the islands of the Pacific Ocean, South Asia, southeast Asia, southern regions of North America, South America and Africa.

Some Caribbean and Pacific islands are home to endemic species. By far the greatest amount of parrot species come from Australasia and South America. The lories and lorikeets range from Sulawesi and the Philippines in the north to Australia and over the Pacific as far as French Polynesia, with the greatest diversity being found in and nearby New Guinea.

Usa

The subfamily Arinae encompasses all the Neotropical parrots, along with the Amazons, macaws and conures, and range from northern Mexico and the Bahamas to Tierra del Fuego in the southern tip of South America.

The pygmy parrots, subfamily Micropsittinae, are a small genus restricted to New Guinea. The subfamily Nestorinae are three species of aberrant parrots from New Zealand. The broad-tailed parrots, subfamily Platycercinae, are restricted to Australia, New Zealand and Pacific islands as far as Fiji. The final true parrot subfamily, Psittacinae, includes a range of species from Australia and New Guinea to the species found in South Asia and Africa.

The centre of cockatoo biodiversity is Australia and New Guinea, although some species reach the Solomon Islands (and one species at one time occurred in New Caledonia), Indonesia and the Philippines.

Several parrot species enter the cool, temperate regions of South America and New Zealand. One species, the Carolina Parakeet existed in temperate North America, but was hunted to extinction in the early 20th century. Numerous species have been introduced in areas with temperate climates, and have established carport populations in some states of the Usa, the United Kingdom and Spain.

While a few parrot species are fully sedentary or fully migratory, the majority fall somewhere between the two, manufacture poorly understood regional movements, some species adopting an entirely nomadic lifestyle.

Extant species range in size from the Buff-faced Pygmy Parrot, at under 10 g (0.35 oz.) in weight and 8 cm (3.2 inches) in length, to the Hyacinth Macaw, at 1.0 meter (3.3 feet) in length, and the Kakapo, at 4.0 kg (8.8 lbs) in weight.

Amongst the families, the three Nestoridae species are all large parrots, and the cockatoos tend to be large birds as well. The Psittacidae parrots are far more variable, fluctuating the full spectrum of sizes shown by the family. The most determined bodily characteristic that characterises parrots is their strong, curved, broad bill.

The upper mandible is prominent, curves downward, and comes to a point. It is not fused to the skull, which allows it to move independently, and contributes to the great biting pressure these birds are able to exert. The lower mandible is shorter, with a sharp, upward facing cutting edge, which moves against the flat measure of the upper mandible in an anvil-like fashion.

Seed eating parrots have a strong tongue which helps to manipulate seeds or position nuts in the bill so that the mandibles can apply an thorough cracking force. The head is large, with eyes positioned sideways, which limits binocular vision, but greatly enhances peripheral vision. Cockatoo species have a movable crest of feathers on the top of their heads which can be raised for display, and retracted.

No other parrots can do so, but the Pacific lorikeets in the genera Vini and Phigys are able to ruffle the feathers of the crown and nape. The renowned colour of plumage in parrots is green, though most species have some red or an additional one colour in small quantities.

Cockatoos are the main irregularity to this, having lost the green and blue plumage colours in their evolutionary history they are now predominately black or white with some red, pink or yellow. Strong sexual dimorphism in plumage is not typical among the parrots, with some renowned exceptions, the most remarkable being the Eclectus Parrot.

learning a New Language When Retired

One of the things you often hear said is that it is good to keep the brain active as you age. And one of the best ways to do that is to learn a second language. Stimulating the brain in this way has been shown to unquestionably help in regenerating brain cells. For many retired persons the conception of going back to study again is akin to being told you need to diet - all pain and no gain! But it need not be that way, and learning a new language can open doors, expand horizons, and lead to a new appreciation of life, especially for population in their 60s and 70s.

What's that you say? You can't teach an old dog new tricks? Don't believe it. To prove it why not try it for yourself? One easy way is to sign up for online classes. Any good school that offers online classes will offer you a free trial class so that you can see how it works, meet a real teacher and begin the enthralling process of learning a new language.

Usa

If you are concerned in learning Spanish, and if you live in the Usa or Canada you probably should be interested, you can try a free class with a school such as Yanapuma Spanish School. They are based in Quito, Ecuador, where the Spanish spoken is about as clear as the high mountain air of this lofty capital. For the cost of your internet connection, which you are already paying anyway, you can try without risk a free class, spending an hour with an experienced Spanish teacher. Even if you know no Spanish at all (I challenge whatever to tell me that they do not know at least 10 Spanish words - gracias, por favor, mañana, hasta la vista (baby!), adios,...) that will not be an impediment to communicating with your teacher and beginning the process of opportunity up new horizons.

And if you feel inspired after the trial class you can continue with classes for a mere Us .00 per hour, practically the price of two cups of coffee these days. And once you learn about the history and culture and expected diversity of Ecuador, you may even be inspired to visit Quito to continue taking classes with your teacher in the flesh. an additional one selection is to trip the country on one of several set programs that search for dissimilar environments and cultures of this gem of a country, accompanied by an specialist guide and companion - your Spanish teacher.

Far from being a time to potter aimlessly colse to the house or organery wishing the grand children would call, seclusion can be an enthralling time to expand into new areas, learn new skills, and remember what it is like to be young again in spirit, if not in the flesh. And learning a new language can be a key element in this rediscovery of life's potential. And all it takes is to sign up for a free online language class.

A New Strategy on Diversity: Aligning Leadership and Organizational Culture

The Diversity Initiative

Speaking at a National Naval Officers relationship Conference, Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Mike Mullen stated "diversity continues to be a leadership issue and indispensable to the Navy's hereafter success." every person is familiar with the original challenges of diversity. However, concepts of diversity have evolved from inclusion and tolerance, to managing diversity, and recognizing the link in the middle of diversity and the emerging complexity of organizations such as the Navy. "A complicated environment is one characterized by many indispensable elements that differ significantly." Complexities such as joint collaborations, emerging technology, and globalization conduce to the challenges of organizational diversity within the Navy. Culture is not created by declaration; it derives from expectations focused on winning. We can only have a culture that encourages execution if we recruit the right people, wish them to behave in a way that is consistent with the values the Navy espouses, and implement processes that will allow the Navy to be successful.

Usa

Differences of any kind make the task more complex. Differences such as proficiency in the use of technology or differences among warfare communities (i.e. Supply Corps, Aviators, Surface, etc.) will conduce to organizational complexity. If the Navy wishes to remain competing in this complicated environment, we must adopt "complex managerial strategies" drawn from many strategies.

If we accept that the leader's job is to inspire and preserve the group responsibility to originate a good hereafter for the Navy, then what are the tools to effectiveness? What characteristics must naval leaders have for this mission? There are key law we must reconsider while striving to enhance leader-follower relationships. First, organizational originate affects culture which in turn impacts strategy formation. Second, leaders must have an understanding of their organization's culture in order to recognize the obstacles to sufficient leadership. Finally, by aligning the Navy's organizational originate and diversity strategy with culture leaders can modify their behavioral styles for desired outcomes by utilizing tools that engage sailors. In summary, I will recognize obstacles to diversity and measures of effectiveness that commanders can implement to manage diversity.

Impact Of Organizational originate On Diversity

The task of managing diversity in today's rapidly changing environment is becoming progressively more difficult. Of policy increasingly dissimilar kinds of habitancy are entering the Navy and demanding dissimilar treatment. But some basic military are also gift and pushing toward needed unity. Some of the reasons that spurn the need for diversity supervision include: "misunderstanding or distortion of affirmative action requirements," the expectation that "only one group needs to change," or an "appearance of 'political correctness' that can put off those with differing views."

Though the increased existence of cultural differences within the Navy is a fact, there is also a culture that is already present. The Navy is a subculture of identifiable traditions and a strong national culture. This cultural foundation forms a viable base for mutual action, trust and support. It can help commanders build unity among their sailors. "The reporting relationships, company practices, policies, and even the corporeal structure of any workplace are based on the cumulative experiences of that organization." The culture we know today is a result of the habitancy who have made up the Navy over time, the larger culture they have created, and the total context in which we operate.

Leadership for diversity is an integrative action that proposes one value system, one culture, around which many habitancy can acquire to achieve useful results. "[Diversity management] requires the capability to think and act in safe bet ways, and that is what ensures that it is doable." The Navy must accept the good values and reject those values and behaviors that are undesirable. Many cultures comprise values, ideals or behavior that work against effective, coordinated performance. While most would agree in that understanding the role of culture and other variables is leading in a range of arenas.

However, in practice habitancy often report that they experience "great pain when confronted with the need to discuss these issues and even greater pain when the argument leads to an examination of the group inequities that are linked with membership in safe bet groups." For example, American society typically does not accept cultural values that regard punctuality as unimportant or that condone nepotism; nor does it condone bribery, child labor or a host of other considered values or behaviors. These examples of unacceptable values are inimical to sufficient interpersonal relationships.

As more habitancy are entering the Navy with dissimilar cultural backgrounds, the pressure is on the corporate culture of the Navy to change. "In an attempt to recruit and keep top-tier employees of all races and both genders, Fortune 500 associates have begun to address diversity issues in the workplace." Established company expectations, rites and rituals will have to be altered for the new but dissimilar sailor; and some of the gift cultural systems may need to be discarded. Navy leaders have a special responsibility with regards to diversity. "Not only must you originate yourself to deal with the many diverse situations that occur in the workplace, you also are called upon to be a diversity leader-- to help originate a climate that values diversity, fairness, and inclusion." As the Navy continues its transformation into the 21 century, leaders must reconsider how diversity will affect our strategic planning and policies.

Impact Of Diversity On Strategy Formation

The most leading attribute of any planning team is its diversity. This diversity, however, is not about being politically literal, or sensitive to a broad representation of sailors. The impact of diversity on strategy formation is not just to avoid age or gender discrimination lawsuits. Prosperous strategic planning depends on the team's capability to ask new questions, perceive new insights, and imagine new solutions. It's difficult for a group of individuals who share similar backgrounds, thinking styles, and experiences to think new thoughts. "Strategy innovation is a creative process, with a goal to recognize markets, products, and company models that may not yet exist."

"A lack of genuine diversity may be the biggest obstacle to improved execution within the [Navy]." If wardrooms are full of too many similar people, from similar backgrounds, who have ascended straight through similar routes then our diversity strategy is bound for failure. "The best ways for any society to affirm that it has adequate diversity is to ensure that the top supervision team is comprised of individuals with assorted sets of skills."

Aligning Strategy & originate With Culture

The Navy must originate a new value law that supersedes values that are now inappropriate due to increased diversity. Of policy all Americans should be open to new values and alternative ways to behave. But we need to match these alternative prospects with what we have now and only turn when we are sure the turn will add to the organizational originate - new visions and values should not take us away from clear societal goals. Naval leaders must be in the vanguard of this change. They shape new cultures and redefine what's appropriate within the Navy and for their sailors.
The goal of the Navy's new Diversity initiative is about drawing the best talent from all aspect of American culture.

The Navy's diversity initiative provides a strategic framework that is broken down into four areas; recruiting - who the Navy brings in; training and amelioration - how the Navy instills values; organizational alignment - how the Navy continues the momentum of cultural change; and communications - how the Navy informs the fleet of where we're headed. Admiral Mike Mullen's address during the Total Force Diversity Day made it clear that the point of diversity at every level in the Navy is a "strategic imperative" and reminded the attendees that the Navy is engaged around the globe. His efforts remind us that the Navy's diversity strategy rests on the shoulders of our leaders and will only be as strong as their capacity to strive for Prosperous results.

Leadership Behaviors For Desired Outcomes

Two Scholars on leadership, James Kouzes and Barry Posner, conducted study on follower expectations by surveying thousands of company and government executives. They asked open-ended questions such as "What values do you look for and admire in your leader?" Four characteristics have consistently stood out among the rest: honesty, vision, competence, and inspiration. Leaders need to originate skills in accepting and using dissimilar habitancy and methods to add to the Navy's capacity to survive in a growing and increasingly complicated world. We need to suppress feelings of fear and antagonism and increase the capacity to accept differences. Most importantly, we need to be proactive in seeking leadership training in situations of cultural diversity.

Honesty

"It's clear that if habitancy everywhere are to willingly result person - either it be into battle or into the boardroom, the front office or the front lines - they first want to assure themselves that the person is worthy of their trust." Creating and maintaining a culture conducive of trust is becoming more difficult today. The character of the Navy is changing: becoming more diverse and less harmonious. The habitancy advent into our organizations enter with dissimilar values and customs. These cultural differences in the habitancy development up the Navy pose major problems in developing a culture of trust. Diversity itself makes the task of developing leadership more difficult.

Every sailor must put off falsehood and speak truthfully, "for we are all members of one body." Honesty is achieved straight through Discretion and truthfulness. Discretion keeps our minds and focus on sound judgment, giving serious attentiveness and understanding to what is going on. It will considered pick our words, attitudes, and actions to be right for any given situation, thus avoiding words and actions that could result in adverse consequences. Truthfulness means being level with others and doing what is right. "It's after we have contemplated our own actions, measuring how they align with our values, intentions, and words, that we are most likely to make a contribution of integrity to the world."

Forward-Looking

From an organizational perspective, "leaders need to continually put the foresight and mission (related to the purpose) in front of followers." Sailors must understand the organization's foresight and know their role in preserve of the mission. Sailors expect leaders to have a "sense of direction and concern" for the hereafter of the Navy. The leader's role is to build a team out of dissimilar individuals. We distinguish leaders by the fact that they Supply the foresight around which group consensus can be sought. Leaders can lead only united, compatible colleagues who, in essence, volunteer to accept the leader's values and methods. This is contrary to the prevalent view that a consensus-seeking process can ascertain vision. Coarse visions result from articulation by one person of ideals that the larger group can come to accept. The growing diversity in the Navy challenges the leader's capability to lead "unless he or she can induce increasingly diverse habitancy to accept Coarse values, one foresight and similar perspectives."

Competence

Leadership is more than commanding authority and giving orders, it is habitancy who understand and practice the art of listening and who make building trust a priority. In order to assure a sufficient work environment where sailors take responsibility, Navy leaders must posses and effectively demonstrate competence. Competent leaders have the capability to bring out the best in others. To enlist in another's cause, sailors must believe that the person is competent and able to guide us in the right direction. "We must see the leader as capable and effective."

Inspiration

Inspiration is the psychological highlight that arouses person to take action toward a desired goal. "Inspiring Leadership speaks to our need to have meaning and purpose in our lives." Stimulation of the mind (spiritually and emotionally) to a high level of feeling or action can only be finished straight through inspiration. Commanders can inspire sailors by relying not on their own understanding but rather on something greater than themselves. As the Apostle Paul declared "... We speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual."

Commanders inspire commitment by finding inward first, becoming aware of how they feel, and communicating a personal foresight of the hereafter based on personal knowledge of the past and realistic experience in the present. Focusing on the themes of your own consciousness should be what certainly drives leaders. "Leaders who originate their message only on the basis of what others might want invariably play to others and only try to please them." Reactions to leaders will be dissimilar depending on the focus of the communication. If leaders only achieve to others' standards, sailors may be entertained, but if leaders report with authentic passion, sailors will sass with excitement and grasp a new and real possibility from an authentic experience.

Dynamics of Diversity

The success of the Navy's increased efforts in diversity will wish a firm understanding of the dynamics of diversity. Many diversity strategies are Prosperous because they take into list the 'Dynamics' that conduce to the need for diversity supervision programs. The merging of job ratings, problems with co-workers, and technology can conduce to dynamics.

Technology, for example, allows the Navy to operate globally with coalition forces, but the sailors must come to be adept in dealing with cultural differences without non-verbal cues provided by face-to-face communications received by liaison officers. The relevance of diversity supervision initiatives also affects these dynamics. dissimilar corporate or group cultures must co-exist - such as one group with the same functional expertise of a merged job rating seeks dominance of those who are skilled in other fields, resulting in talent mass exodus. The dynamics of diversity has made it increasingly leading for the Navy not only to "minimize cultural errors but also to understand and work with habitancy of assorted backgrounds."

Champions of Diversity

Because of the nature of hierarchy and use of power and authority within the Navy, the process of managing diversity must begin at the top. finding a direct relationship in the middle of diversity and mission readiness, old Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Vern Clark extensive the original Navy's focus of diversity beyond race and gender, and folded in a "Sailor's creativity, culture, ethnicity, religion, skills and talents." As managing diversity moves to the forefront of the Navy's organizational development, processes must be developed that allow the commitments to come to be institutionalized within the organizational structure. Efforts devoted to schooling and awareness must be closely followed by processes that originate systematic change. One recommended model is "champion of diversity model". Under this model, the Navy would recognize the elements of the culture and climate that leads to the amelioration of an educated, committed, and systematically supported group of Navy leaders of the diversity turn process. either it is education, training, or straightforward awareness Navy leaders have to 'champion' diversity.

Measure What Matters

Diversity supervision is about how we make decisions in situations where there are indispensable differences, similarities, and tensions. Roosevelt Thomas, author of building on the Promise of Diversity, identified three indispensable questions that will help any society in the journey towards diversity. First, what is a capability decision? A "quality decision", agreeing to Thomas, is one that helps to achieve three leading goals: mission, vision, and strategy. Second, what constitutes indispensable differences, similarities, and tensions? another way of asking this ask is how do leaders know what blend if diverse? Are we involved about race, gender, ethnicity, geographic origin, religion? How do leaders know what level of diversity is right for their organization? We can't tell just by finding at people. We must first specify which dimensions we reconsider significant. And for every indispensable dimension, the first core ask should be how dissimilar or similar are the members of the mixture? Leaders must know what blend they currently have and recognize which dimensions are important. The third ask Thomas suggested is: Where could we use "strategic diversity management?" Once leaders have identified the potential gaps, they can then begin to recruit to fill them.

The Chief of Naval Personnel stood up the "Fleet Diversity Council" which meets semi-annually to discuss the diversity strategy for our sailors and civilian employees. It provides a forum for unfiltered dialogue about diversity linked initiatives and issues and either or not they are working. The council provides feedback to the Chief of Naval Operations as well as communications to the fleet. Throughout this I've made it clear that diversity is a leadership issue. This is largely due to both the wide collection of diversity that there is in the Navy, and the impact that diversity can have on so many aspects of organizational and personel behavior. However, this does not remove the responsibility from personel sailors nor the requirement for life long learning.

We've Still Got a Lot to Learn

My experience of diversity training has often been that habitancy attend such training with the view that there is little that they can learn about diversity. So there is a challenge to us all to compare what we still have to learn about diversity and to meet that challenge with openness and a willingness to learn. "People will only effectively learn about diversity if they are prepared to take risks in their learning." It is not a comfortable feeling to learn that we have prejudices we need to deal with. It is not easy to find that our own view of the world is just one of many, and those other views are equally valid. We all have a great deal to learn about diversity. Not just a good understanding of the reality of diversity in the Navy, but also the issues that this raises. If our Navy is to be a reflection of our society, then naval leaders must strive to understand the reality of diversity in our society as well.

A New Strategy on Diversity: Aligning Leadership and Organizational Culture

วันพุธที่ 25 กรกฎาคม พ.ศ. 2555

How To evaluate A Website Or business

The word Website appears first in the title of this record because, especially in the
home based company and network marketing industries, you will often be dealing
with an individual Webpage or Website as opposed to a large company. That Website
might be the independent representative page of a representative, or it could be an
independently developed page operated by an entrepreneur.

Even if you are looking at a Webpage that is owned by a company, often you will
have to go no further in the appraisal process to rule out a singular Website or
opportunity. Then, only if the Website passes your tests, do you go on to evaluate
the company and opportunity.

Usa

Please realize, also, that this record does not actually address the issues complicated in
evaluating the chance side of a company, or fully evaluating the company and
opportunity combined. On the Homepage of Abcincome.com appears a 13-point
criteria developed out of two decades of touch with evaluating company
opportunities. The version on the Homepage is only an overview, but a more
complete version of what to look for will appear soon in the form of a new article.

One other point before we actually get started, is that this record is not involved with
aesthetic issues. Granted, there are certain, “generally approved Web invent
practices,” some of which will be talked about here. However, just because a
Website uses a confident type of graphics, or possibly a wild color task (or a boring
one), doesn’t mean that it can’t offer good content or opportunities. There are just
too many factors having to do with personal preference for these to be determined a
major factor for the purpose of this article.

Ok, with that said, here are some of the things that you should be looking for when
evaluating a Website or a company:

1. Is the Main Website directly accessible via a Url (Web address) that reasonably
makes sense?

Some Websites, most notably those that are questionable, will
occasionally set up even their main Url so that it isn’t very intuitive or accessible for
the general public. For instance, usually a Website name might look something like
this:

Or [http://www.evaluateawebsite.com/index.htm]

Or [http://www.evaluateawebsite.com/main.asp]

On the other hand, if something isn’t quite right it might look something like this:

Or [http://www.evaluateawebsite.com/comingsoon/]

Or [http://www.evaluateawebsite.com/invitationonly/]

Let me immediately point out that naturally because a Url ends with a name similar to
one of the examples above that doesn’t mean that the Website isn’t legitimate. If,
for instance, you are reading this record directly on the Website of Abcincome.com
instead of in my email newsletter, then it ends with a name that is tacked onto the
main Web address of Abcincome.com. It’s pretty approved convention in the industry to
add transmit slashes and further directories, folders, and/or page names to the
right of the main Url.

However, If you cannot erase those extra characters to the right and directly access
the Website with just the quantum that ends in .com, or .net, or .biz, or .ws, etc., that
may be cause for concern. Many Websites direct visitors to pages that aren’t the
main Homepage. However, if you can’t get to the Website’s main Homepage, again,
that may be cause for suspicion. company Websites are all about marketing a
product or service, so any general Website owner would typically want to make sure
that their Homepage is accessible to any and all visitors.

2. What kind of touch options are provided? Email, touch Form, telephone
number, etc.?

If there are no touch options, unless there is a Very good reason, such as that the
site is undergoing building or maintenance, reconsider it to be a big Red Flag!

If the site offers a way for you to buy something, but there are no touch
options (until after purchase, you hope), then actually reconsider it a Big Red Flag!

In general, the more touch options, the better. I would feel the most comfortable,
for instance, dealing with Website where an email address or touch form, and a
phone number, and a road address are provided. I would feel least comfortable
with a Website where only an email address and nothing else is provided.

Remember also that you can, or should, view Websites owned by individuals slightly
differently than Websites owned by a company. Any legitimate, reputable company,
for instance, should offer at least some touch information, again, the more the
better. However, it is not uncommon for Websites owned and managed by
individuals to feature less touch information. Especially if it is owned by a home
based company person; he or she might not be comfortable publishing their home
street address or phone estimate on the Web, for instance.

In rare cases with confident types of replicating Websites (where many representatives
have the same type of Website) the user may not have the option of providing more
contact details. But, again, that’s rare. These days even most Websites aimed at
individual users allow the user to add and modernize their touch information.

Even a P.O. Box is better than no address at all. Here again, whether dealing with a
giant company or an individual, it is not uncommon for clubs or individuals to
use P.O. Boxes to more efficiently deal with their mail.

True, some unscrupulous operators hide behind P.O. Boxes. However, they are a
much smaller ration in comparison to legitimate users. The main presuppose is
that, especially after 9/11, in order to apply for and use a P.O. Box or address
service the applicant has to provide various kinds of information, along with a real
street address, and proof of identity, etc.

Some Websites provide only an instant chat username as a means of contact. Here
also, usually to be determined a red flag.

Because scam artists know that providing a means of touch considerably increases
the credibility of a Website, one of the cleverest tactics to watch out for is a site that
provides a “Live Chat” or “Live Support” or “Live buyer Service” option, etc., but
it is never actually staffed!

The above tactic is often combined with the further tactic of the site claiming to
be settled in a part of the World that just happens not to be open for company
during regular company hours in busy parts of the World such as the Usa and
Canada.

I saw that tactic employed by a scam Website claiming to be settled in the Uk. It
offered, “Live Support,” but noted that they operated agreeing to Uk time, which,
conveniently, meant that by the time that most population in the Usa and Canada got
out of work and visited their Website, it was too late to make touch due to it being
after hours in the Uk. In reality, the site’s “Live Support” option was never staffed,
but most visitors never caught on due to the cleverness of the scheme.

3. After checking the items above I usually look for an “About Page.”

Here again a
Website run by an individual might not have one. However, the best companies,
whether large or small, will almost all the time have at least one page if not more
devoted to information about the company. Sometimes information about the
company’s supervision is provided as well.

These pages also go by names such as, “Company info.,” “Our Company,” or just,
“Company,” etc.

The About page can often tell you a lot about a company, along with how long they
claim to have been in business. In general, the longer the better!

4. Does the Website feature any certifications, affiliations, or rankings, backed by
reputable and unbiased 3rd party organizations such as The better company Bureau,
Chamber of Commerce, Dun & Bradstreet, Truste, Alexa, Dsa (Direct Selling
Association), etc.?

Though none of the above organizations endorse or certify companies,
membership in and/or certification by a respected 3rd party society can go a
long way toward giving you greater peace of mind that a company or individual is
legitimate and trustworthy.

Something that population don’t generally know about the better company Bureau is
that they can invent a file and keep records on Any company or individual
whether they are a member or not. The inequity is, however, that a company who
is not a member has not agreed to the terms of the better company Bureau, cannot
display their logos, and has no way to actually showcase a good record if they have
one.

However, even if a company is not listed with the Bbb, If they’ve been around for a
while and you can verify that fact, at least the Bbb may have on file any negative
complaints that have been filed.

I must stress, however, this actually applies only if the company that you are doing
business with has been around for a important length of time, and you can verify
it. That’s because a base tactic of scam artists is to start a new company, take
people’s money, and then naturally close their doors, start someone else new company, and
repeat the process all over again. Thus, if they are not a Bbb member, they may very
well have taken advantage of many unsuspecting victims, but naturally haven’t been
around long adequate for complaints to have reached the Bbb yet. That’s why it is a
requirement that when a company or individual applies for membership they must
have been in company for at least 6 months to a year, and, further, the Bbb goes as
far back as 3 years in their files to see if there have been any past complaints before
granting membership.

Unscrupulous clubs that try to evade detection by conclusion their doors and then
opening up again under a new name are often detected in the Bbb’s database. So, if
you know that a company previously operated under a dissimilar name it would be a
good idea to check to see if any complaints were filed against the company under
its previous name(s).

5. Whois and Alexa are tools that you can use in aggregate to further invent a
profile and photo of what a Website is all about.

Alexa ( http://www.alexa.com/ ) allows you to track various data about a Website’s
activity, possibly how long the site has been around, and maybe who owns it.

Alexa can be a great tool, but you have to be very meticulous if you aren’t customary with
what all of the various pieces of information mean. For instance, just because a
Website has a high Alexa rating doesn’t mean it’s credible.

There are adequate population who love money adequate to jump onboard any task or
scam even if it seems too good to be true that unscrupulous Websites have often
been able to accomplish high Alexa ratings. The thing to watch for is most of the traffic
being generated by the population who are jumping onboard the task and
advertising the site, as opposed to the Website climbing up in the rankings on its
own merits.

Again, it may take you a while before you are able to explicate and read the data to
be able to remarked such things. However, one possible clue that “might” be a tip off
is when you see a Website appear out of the blue and all of a sudden it has a high
Alexa rating. Maybe it’s ranked at #77,000, for instance, but it’s only been on the
charts for a few weeks or months. Not always, but, especially if you are utilizing the
other methods discussed here, you may be able to decide that such a brief and
rapid turn in ranking is a red flag for that singular Website.

You also have to realize that Websites and the clubs and individuals behind
them are isolate entities. For instance, Sears Roebuck had obviously already been
around a long, long time before they ever had a Website. And even clubs or
individuals that have a Website sometimes add new ones, etc. So, if a company or
individual says they’ve been around for a while, but their Website hasn’t been
around as long, that isn’t necessarily a red flag as long as you can verify the
information.

As for Whois, there are numerous Whois servers that you can use. Many in fact.
However, three of the best known and most beloved are:

InterNic
http://www.internic.net/

VeriSign
http://registrar.verisign-grs.com/whois/

and Network Solutions
http://www.networksolutions.com/en_Us/whois/

Whois is a special database that lets you find out about a Website by typing in the
domain name (the Website address). Among the things that you may be able to find
out are out how long the Website has been around, who owns it, and where that
company or individual is actually located.

Earlier I mentioned a scam Website that claimed to be in the Uk. Well, using the
same kinds of methods that I’m telling you about here I swiftly found all kinds of
red flags. One of the biggest was that when I ran a Whois query the ensue came
back that the site owners were not actually in the Uk as they claimed to be, but were
actually registered on the offshore island of Belize, a base tactic of, and a Huge
red flag characteristic of scam operations.

Another thing to watch for are private registrations by clubs or individuals who
are obviously advertising as doing company with the public. private registrations are
those where the real identity of the Website’s owner is not revealed. That’s fine if
someone just wants privacy. However, clubs doing company with the group are
by their very nature doing company with the public! Therefore, it actually makes no
sense, in most cases, for person to file a private registration. It can be a red flag
that makes one wonder, who actually owns this Website, and why don’t they show
themselves?

6. Dun & Bradstreet and similar company brain and credit reporting agencies,
most notably Hoovers, are also perfect options if you actually want to find out more
about a company.

From Microsoft to Motorola, Dun & Bradstreet (also known as
D&B) is The industry’s most respected credit reporting and company brain
source for that kind of information.

Unlike most of the other resources mentioned in this article, D&B primarily focuses
on large clubs like the Fortune 500, or larger “small” businesses. So, many, if
not most individuals and small businesses will not be listed. Additionally, these
services require a fee, which can be mountainous in order for you to pull a record on a
company, unless you have a subscription, which also involves a fair estimate of cost.
You can, however, run miniature queries at no cost that may be helpful to you.

7. One last point to reconsider is one that most population never give much idea to
when evaluating a Website or a company, and that is the payment methods they
accept.

Limited payment method acceptance (the inability to accept online payment) may be
a red flag when dealing with all but the smallest clubs or individuals.

The lowest line is that the more payment methods a site is able to offer the greater
the convenience for the customer, which equates to more sales. Therefore, no
established company would want to be without the capability to accept multiple forms
of payment, unless, of course, something is wrong.

This record is already lengthy, and space naturally does not permit going into information
about the dissimilar types of payment processors. However, in general, a Website
that accepts payment via a accumulate merchant shopping cart of its own has probably
passed the most meticulous application, credit check, and background verification
process. With a third party processor, such as 2Checkout, ClickBank, or PayPal, this
is less so, but still applicable.

If a company or individual can’t qualify for an account with one of the above
processors that can often be a red flag and a sign of whether credit and/or financial
problems, or even fraudulent activity. If a company has had problems that could
explain why they can’t accept base forms of payment. An online Website saying
that it can only accept payment in the form of a money order, cashier’s check, etc.,
should probably be viewed with suspicion.

Also, if a Website features StormPay as the only payment option, and not also
PayPal, that too can be a red flag. That’s because StormPay has much less stringent
application and maintenance requirements than PayPal. So, a Website who Had an
account with one of the most respected payment processing company accounts like
those described above, but then got into problem and had their account banned or
terminated, may still be able to get a StormPay account. actually not all StormPay
accounts fall into this category, but, again, if it’s the only payment method
accepted, it may be cause for concern.

Likewise, a Website offering as it’s only means of conducting transactions the e-
gold service, may also be cause for concern and even a red flag. E-gold is an
alternative aid that allows clubs and population to use gold instead of dollars
as a means of conducting transactions. Though e-gold is a legitimate aid that
continues to grow and is approved by many reputable merchants, it is often used by
scam artists for confident reasons.

Searching For the Sportsbook Bonuses Online

Sportsbook poker refers to one of the 'forms' of poker whose popularity has been growing in leaps and bounds in the new past. Sportsbook poker has particularly found wide petition with both the online casinos gift poker as a game and their members: as it is the form of poker that is just tailor-made for the gambling purposes.

Now as you will note, the word 'forms' in the definition of sportsbook poker has been put into quotes because, as it turns out, sportsbook poker is not honestly a 'form of poker' in the same sense as say 'Texas Holdem' or 'Omaha' - but rather an online poker playing room, open only to North American participants (that is from the Usa and Canada exclusively), and in which the players can get to take part in the other 'forms' of poker as we know them, like Texas Holdem and Omaha.

Usa

Like all the best forms of online poker, of course, Sportsbook poker comes with bonuses. Some of these sportsbook bonuses, as you discover if you go searching for them, become ready to you just by virtue of signing up with the assorted sites that offer Sportsbook. Other sportsbook bonuses become ready to you the moment you deposit money into your Sportsbook account.

By the way, the sportsbook bonuses so 'won' - even by virtue of simply registering with the assorted sites gift sportsbook poker - are real money, money that you can real poker with, and if you win, get the occasion to withdraw the money in hard cash straight through whatever banking option (say bank catalogue or PayPal) that you specify when signing up for the Sportsbook poker.

Since there are so many distinct sites gift linkage, possibly under affiliate agreements, to the main sportsbook poker room; and since each of these sites decides on its poker bonus awarding criteria, we end up with quite a huge variety of poker bonuses, which can be seen as falling into a spectrum, from what can be termed as quite poor sportsman bonus offers to what can be termed simply as 'ordinary' poker sportsman bonus offers and onto what can be termed as the best sportsman bonuses.

Different people, of course, have distinct ideas on what to term as the best sportsman bonus. For most people, the best sportsbook bonuses are those that are offered simply by virtue of registration, as these are what can be said to be 'absolutely risk free'. Then there are those who look down upon such sportsman bonuses that become ready by the uncomplicated virtue of registration, arguing that they tend to be way too little, and as such honestly end up putting them into the category of mediocre sportsman bonuses. For these citizen then, the best sportsman bonuses are those that are stated as a ration of whatever one happens to put into their sportsman playing account, and which - on average - tend to be bigger than what one could ever win straight through the sportsman bonuses that become ready by virtue of registering for sportsman poker.

Devon or Cornwall - What Makes a traditional English Cream Tea So Perfect?

There is nothing quite so preeminent as a pot of freshly brewed tea served with warm freshly baked scones, sweet fruity jam and lashings of golden-crusted clotted cream. The customary English cream tea may sound perfectly simple, but it's tradition, heritage and origin has been debated and fought over for many years.

Clotted cream has unclear origins, but it has long been associated with the South West of England. Maybe because of the warmer climate, Maybe because of the lush green pasture, it seems that the dairy herds in Devon and Cornwall are able to produce a prime dairy product. Clotted cream is unlike any other in taste and texture. It is scaled over hot water for a period of approximately 2 hours, and the thick cream layer that forms a golden crust is skimmed off and cooled. The resulting product is effectively pasteurised while the process, allowing it to be kept for longer than 'raw' cream, which would have soured much sooner in times gone by. The exact timings, temperatures and methods vary, and many are treasured secrets. Cornish clotted cream has a pale yellow colour, which is due to the higher levels of carotene present in the regional grasses that the cows graze. Cornish Clotted Cream also has protected designation of origin status, meaning it can only made from milk produced in Cornwall. These days, market clotted cream output helps to reduce the number of waste milk produced by West Country farmers, and the by-product of making clotted cream is skimmed milk - which is widely used in the food output industry.

Usa

Devon clotted cream can be traced as far back as the 12th Century in Tavistock where monks were said to have fed local workers bread, cream and strawberry jam keep as sustenance and in thanks for helping them to rebuild Tavistock Abbey. Devon clotted cream is a tiny paler and deliciously delicate in comparison. Unlike the commercially available Cornish version, Devon clotted cream is still produced the old fashioned way on farms, with smaller bungalow industry businesses supplying local hamlet shops with their unique and delicate cream. Its lighter completion has lead to wide use in ice cream and fudge. Devon has recently made application for protected designation of origin status for the 'Devon Cream Tea' - indication of the rivalry in the middle of the two counties, both of whom make claim to the heritage of clotted cream.

Whatever the origins, traditions and associated myths, the cream tea has undoubtedly become a traveler attraction for the South West of England and a unique pleasure that visitors and holidaymakers enjoy. As it has a plainly short shelf-life, you will not find Cornish or Devon clotted cream in any place else in the world. Because of the high fat content (55%-64%) if it were sold in Usa, it would be classed as butter!

The Scone. Should it be plain or fruited for a cream tea? It may seem like a trivial request but population unquestionably do feel very strongly about the branch in the South West of England. Whilst most population love a raisin or two in their scone, there is an conference that the scone should always be plain for a cream tea and that there is no place for a raisin if you have a compassionate dollop of well made jam and lashings of clotted cream. The jury is out on this one. Scones should be warm not hot or cold, of a delicate size, not too large or else they will overshadow the taste of the cream and jam. This all sounds a tiny fussy perhaps? Cream tea traditions are fiercely argued and the age-old dilemma of 'Cream before the Jam' - the Devon way, or 'Jam before the Cream' the Cornish way is still debated to this day. In fact, it makes up a large part of the application for protected designation of status made by the county of Devon for the cream tea.

Devon or Cornwall, the cream tea is now a tradition and part of the culture of the South West of England and a delightful treat for those wishing to indulge a tiny and enjoy the preeminent taste of clotted cream.

Myths About Usa Gymnastics Level 4 Gymnasts

Not Originally Designed for Competition

Level 4 is the first official level of compulsory competition in the Usa Gymnastics competitive system. The Level 4 vault and bars, beam and floor routines are substantially similar to the routines in the old 8-year compulsory cycle, which ended in 2005. while that cycle, Level 4 was upgraded to official competition status and gymnasts were allowed to enter official Usag competitions up to the State Championships. But the routines and especially the vault were originally designed plainly as training devices, not for competition.

Usa

The Level 4 Vault Mat

This is most inevitable with the Level 4 vault - a handspring onto big stack of mats. In order to add this "vault" into quarterly competitions, a new piece equipment had to be designed and provided at competitions completely isolate from the normal vault horse/table. And unlike any vault at any other level, gymnasts do not land on their feet in the Level 4 vault requiring a whole new arrival to judging the vault.

You Don't Have to Compete Level 4

Another coarse misconception is that gymnasts are required to compete Level 4 before they can compete in Level 5. There is no Level 4 competitive requirement before you compete in Level 5. The only requirement for Level 5 is that gymnasts must pass a skill evaluation from a skill evaluator with a score of at least 75%. You don't have to compete Level 4! It is not required!

Level 4 Skills are roughly Never Used at Higher Levels of Competition

Level 4 skills, especially the bar skills are roughly never used at the higher elective levels of competition. There are 12 skills in the Level 4 bar habit and none of them are ever used in elective bar routines, except for the casts. On beam and floor, the situation is somewhat better. About half of the skills are direct progressions to more difficult skills that may be used later, but that also means that half of them are not.

The Majority of Level 4 Skills Lead Nowhere

Since the vault, all of the bars skills and about half of the beam and floor skills are not used later at the higher levels of competition, it is inevitable that most Level 4 skills are not used ever again in competition.

Level 4 Has Been Watered Down

During the old 8-year compulsory cycle, Level 4 gymnasts were allowed to attempt to compete a kip on bars. starting this year, you must be a Level 5 gymnast to do a kip in competition. Level 4 gymnasts no longer need to hit a real cross handstand in the beam routine, only a ¾ handstand. The handstand hold time requirement on the beam dismount is also less than in the last compulsory cycle. In short, Usa Gymnastics has made the Level 4 routines easier.

Why?

By now, you must wonder why Usa Gymnastics has made all these Level 4 changes. The answer is quite straightforward and even justifiable. They are trying to make the sport more available to more gymnasts. By lowering the entry level to competition, more gymnasts may participate in the Usa Gymnastics competitive system. This is not necessarily a bad thing for the sport. It increases the financial base of Usa Gymnastics and the whole of gymnasts competitive by a very needful percentage. Some of those gymnasts may at last rise to the top of the sport.

What Does It All Mean?

But parents and gymnasts should know that there are other paths to becoming a high level gymnast other than competitive at Level 4. In fact, most of the gymnasts you see on Tv were probably not ever Level 4 gymnasts. If it is your goal to become a high level elective or Elite gymnast, then you should be aware of the other paths that are more likely to make that happen.

Count Out the Years

Really good gyms and training programs create high level elective and Elite gymnasts in 3 - 5 years of daily training. That is fewer years than it would take to move from Level 4 to Level 10 (at one level per year) and they are working on harder skills sooner in their work (which is normally a good thing). For gymnasts on the Level 10/Elite track competitive at Level 4 may be a waste of a year of their gymnastics career.

Special Elite power and Skill development Programs Available

Elite and level 10 gymnasts often use programs like the Usa Gymnastics Top agenda and the Usaigc (United States association of Independent Gymnastic Clubs) Step agenda and competitions or their own version of these types of programs. The Top and Step programs both incorporate first on building power and flexibility and then the teaching of high level elective skill progressions.

Top and Step Programs Work for All Gymnasts

The truth is that these type programs that build gymnastics power and flexibility and work on high level skills and their progressions are as a matter of fact the best training system for all types and levels of gymnasts. It is, however, inherent to participate in these programs and compete at a compulsory level to gain competition experience. But by far, it is more foremost for a gymnast's work to found strength, flexibility and begin to train on the accepted higher-level skill progressions.

Basic Guide For Foreign Buyers of Real Estate in the Usa

As the Great Recessions is gradually but as a matter of fact fading away with the hopes of eventual salvage showing up on the horizon, foreign buyers and investors starting to pursue opportunities in the Us real estate store again. Even though garage salvage of the housing store is still "work in progress", many foreigners identify that American real estate is "On Sale", plus the dollar is historically weak, so many buyers are trying to snatch the bargains in residential and commercial properties here. However, a foreign buyer investing in the Us must take extra diligence to plan the acquisitions due to nuances in taxation laws, title retention rules, money exchange rules and many other factors. There are many aspects to consider, I'll integrate on some key points:

(1) Document Everything: Before you exchange even a dollar here, make sure you can verify where the money came from. Any transfers over ,000 into the Us, including your all cash real estate buys, will be reported to the federal authorities, and when the Feds come asking questions, you need to make sure that you can prove legal sources of your cash. Agreeing to 2001 Patriot Act and the Money Laundering control Act of 1986, escrow and title companies, brokers, banks must report to the federal authorities any large deposits and money transfers over ,000. Make sure you have documentation backing up your sources of income, taxes paid overseas, bank catalogue statements, speculation catalogue statements, in other words - the paper trail.

Usa

(2) Finance Or All-Cash? If you are planning to buy with all cash, it will give you many advantages as the "all cash" buyers might enjoy deeper discounts from motivated sellers in many areas. All cash buyers can close deals very fast, and some sellers prefer to deal with buyers like this. However, I propose that you plan the acquisitions with a real estate speculation adviser to see if buying with some type of financing will be financially more useful for your speculation strategy because of leverage-enhanced Roi and distribution of risk among some properties.

If you're looking to finance your real estate acquisition in the Us, be ready to encounter some tough times. Real Estate Financing is pretty tough for even Americans these days, but for foreigners it's even tougher. There are only a handful of institutional lenders who will reconsider loans for foreign nationals, but they will all want a large downpayment (at least 30% or more) and verification of wage from your country. If you have a work visa in the Us, such as H or L, and have an established credit history in the Us, you may be able to qualify for regular financing with as little as 3.5% down even though you are still thought about a "foreign national".

If you have established connection with your bank in your own country or another foreign bank, you may reconsider obtaining financing from them and then bringing the loan proceeds into the Us as "all cash" purchase, again just make sure to have documentation as to where the money came from.

Alternatively, there a many underground lenders who will lend up to 65% of the asset value at 9-12% annually regardless of your immigration status, and if you are looking for a commercial property, you might be able to finance it easier too, because commercial lenders underwrite loans primarily on the merits and wage of the asset itself, rather than the borrower.

(3) Control Your Assets: In the Us you can hold title to the asset in many separate ways: as an individual, corporation (either domestic or foreign), little Liability Company, partnership, living trust, pension fund, or many other form of entity. Each of these forms has advantages and disadvantages, especially when it comes to taxation of the rental wage received from your speculation property, exchange of the asset to linked or unrelated parties, estate planning and many other situations. You need to conclude Before you buy a asset in the Us how you will own the property, spend some time with a knowledgeable international tax counselor to learn about your options.

Investing in real estate is a very hands-on enterprise. You must think through the details before you buy the first property. It's very hard to control a rental business when you don't see what's happening yourself. I'm working with many investors and have owned many rental properties, and can tell many bad dream stories about asset administration fellowships embezzling money from out of town investors, renting units for cash but reporting them vacant, overinflating repair bills, etc. How are you planning to control your speculation physically while living in India or Russia and owning properties in the Us?

(4) Before You Enter, Plan Your Exit. Are you planning to sell for profit? How long before you sell? Did you catalogue for the future capital gain tax? Will you take the money out of the country? If you are planning to sell for behalf but re-invest proceeds into another property, you need to become well-known with 1031 tax-deferred exchanges that allow you to trade and integrate properties for years and decades without paying a dime of taxes until their final disposition. It's a great tool for smart investors that can make you very rich, but again, you have to plan for this strategy in improve and consult with a knowledgeable person. Besides, when you are selling a asset here as a foreign individual, you are field to all kinds of withholdings regardless if you made any behalf or not, including 10% withholding under Firpta just because you are a foreigner, 3 1/3% withholding in California because the asset is non-owner occupied, etc. But, you can avoid some of these withholdings if you learn the rules and plan your title retention strategy in advance!

(5) Visa Considerations: leading misconception I see among many foreign buyers that I'd like to address here: don't assume that owning real estate in the Us will automatically entitle you to a Us visa. You can own million of properties in the Us, but still be denied an entry visa. So, make sure to get your visa status cleared first and then come to the Us to look at areas of interest and definite properties. Do Not Ever Buy Properties Sight Unseen!!!

(6) Why Real Estate? Finally, ask yourself honestly: why are you investing in real estate in the Us? Because of visa, passive income, future store appreciation, or because you are thinking of development it your future home? If visa and speculation inherent are your main decision factors, reconsider some alternatives that can furnish you with similar Roi (return on Investment) and visa opportunities, such as Eb-5 visas ( million dollar minimum), "Regional Centers" (0,000 minimum), E-2 small investor visas (0,000 investment), etc. Or you can integrate some strategies, depending on your preferences and passage to capital.

Bottom line: your investing in real estate here should be a corollary and the Final Step of some serious planning path. Portion seven times, cut once, as we say in Russian. It's much easier to avoid high-priced mistakes before you step into this store than waste time and money undoing mistakes made in the policy of a rushed poorly planned real estate venture. Happy Investing!

National Indoor Middle distance Usa High School Track Records - What it Takes to Be the Best

After receiving my 2009 All-Time World Indoor List of the records and best performances compiled by Ed Gordon, I asked myself, "What are the best United States high school middle length indoor records?"

This inquire popped into my mind because I had just completed an description on the 2009 Simplot Games, the premiere high school indoor meet in the West, and one of the top gatherings of prep talent in the nation.

Usa

Gordon's 221-page book is an foreseen, variety of every world indoor description with an full, listing of best times following the world-record performances. This sort of publication is a gold mine of data for a someone like me, who just happens to be a member of the Track and Field Writers of America (Tafwa).

Having been a track fan, follower and participant for more than 58 years, reading the records brought back some great memories for me. Even the high school list is too long to publish all of the records in Gordon's compilation, so I focused on the middle length events because that is my area of knowledge and expertise.

Two factors should be carefully in sharing these impressive high school performances with you. First, there are very few indoor competitions compared to outdoor competitions, so there are a lot fewer opportunities to break records. Second, indoor tracks can vary from an old time 11-lap track made up of cinders like I used to run on, and a modern 8-lap, 200-meter track made up of banked-boards or an artificial, blend surface. That said, here are the athletes whose stars are still shining:

First is Alan Webb, who competed for South Lakes High School in Reston, Va. Webb holds the indoor records in three events-the 1000-Meter in 2:23.68, the 1500-Meter in 3:43.27 and the Mile in 3:59.86, all set in 2001. The 1500 description was set enroute to the Mile record. Running a sub-4 microscopic mile as a prep runner is no mean task, and doing it indoors is even more difficult.

Before he graduated from high school, Webb would also set the national prep description in the outdoor Mile (3:53.43) and outdoor 1500 Meter (3:38.26). Ultimately, he would set the American description in the outdoor Mile (3:46.91) in 2007.

Another running legend, Gerry Lindgren of Rogers High School in Spokane, Wa, holds two of the records-the 3000 Meter in 8:06.3 and the 2 Mile in 8:40.0, both set in the same race in 1964, 45 years ago and never bested the best of the best since. After graduating from high school in 1964, Lindgren would gain worldwide consideration by beating two seasoned Russian runners to win the 10,000-Meter event in the Us-Ussr Track Meet in Los Angeles.

While running for Washington State University, Lindgren would win 11 Ncaa championships and to this day remains only 1 of 2 runners to ever beat Steve Prefontaine in an Ncaa Championship, winning the 1969 Ncaa Cross-Country individual title when Prefontaine complete 3rd.

Lindgren would finally share the world 6-Mile description (27:11.6) with Billy Mills, the 1964 Olympic 10,000-Meter Champion and Gold-Medal winner.

Dave Merrick of Lincoln-Way High School in New Lenox, Il set the 3-Mile description by running 13:37.0 in 1971. Brad Hudson of South Eugene (Or) High School set the 5,000-Meter description with a 14:29.28 in 1971. To of course appreciate Merrick's indoor record, you only need to know that he ran back-to-back-to-back miles at a 4:32 pace; that is a lot of laps on a small track.

Two other records are of note. Michael Granville of Bell Gardens (Ca) High School ran 1:50.55 in the 800 Meter in 1995, and Greg Gibson of Connell (Wa) High School ran 2:10.1 for the 1,000 Yard in 1972.

Among the girls' records, no name shines brighter than Mary Decker of Orange (Ca) High School. Decker still holds the 800 Meter (2:01.8) and 880-Yard (2:02.4) records set in the same race in 1974. Those two indoor marks were world records at the time; she also set the 1,000-Meter world description (2:26.7) that same year as a prep runner.

Decker (now Mary Decker Slaney) was very popular, very talented and a fierce competitor on the track. Decker would go on to set 36 national records and 17 world records. She is the only American runner, man or woman, to hold all American records from 800 to 10,000-meters at the same time.

Decker still holds the American records for 800 Meters, 1,500 Meters, 1 Mile, 2,000 Meters and 3,000 Meters.

Another high school indoor record-holder who would come to be even more famed was Lynn Jennings of Bromfield High School in Harvard, Ma. Jennings set the 1,500-Meter mark by running 4:18.9 in 1978.

Jennings would go on to win 3 World Cross-Country Championships, 9 U. S. National Cross-Country Championships, and come to be the bronze medalist in the 10,000 Meters at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain. Her Olympic time (31:19.89) in the 10,000 Meters set an American record. Her American road-race description for the 10,000 (31:06) still stands.

Melody Fairchild of Boulder (Co) High School holds two national indoor high school records-the 3,000 Meter in 9:17.7 and the 2 Mile in 9:55.92, both set in the same race in 1992. She would go on to come to be a repeat Foot Locker National High School Cross-Country Champion and still remains the policy description holder. Fairchild was the first high school girl to break 10 minutes for 2 Miles.

Other indoor girl records were set by:

Diana Richburg of Lansingburgh High School in Troy, Ny in the 1,000 Yard-2:26.3.

Sarah Bowman of Fauquier High School in Warrenton, Va in the 1,000 Meter-2:43.40.

Debbie Heald of Neff High School in Miranda, Ca in the Mile-4:38.5.

Cathy Schiro of Dover (Nh) High School in the 3 Mile-16:20.9.

Brianna Jackucewicz of Howell North High School in Farmingdale, Nj in the 5,000 Meter-16:43.02.

A Balloon Ride to Remember - sublime Trips over the Sky

The oldest form of technology that can carry humans, the hot air balloon has been at the centre of a great many enchanting air trips. The idea of a balloon ride as a way to observe the skies has captured the imaginations of habitancy ever since the first one lifted in Paris, in 1783. The habitancy of Paris stood in awe of this spectacular invention, as it drifted up over the Paris skyline. But there have been many a illustrious balloon ride occurring throughout history. This record looks at the most memorable.

Hot air balloons are a remarkably uncomplicated yet sufficient way to get oneself into the air. The balloon itself is an envelope containing heated air. As this air is at a lower density than the surrounding cooler air, the balloon rises, carrying a happy bunch of balloon ride enthusiasts into the stratosphere, commonly swinging in a basket or other capsule.

Usa

If you're wondering what constitutes a genuinely memorable balloon ride, or rather, epic flight - then Richard Branson's Virgin Pacific Flyer must be a good example. In 1991 Branson and Per Linstrand flew from Japan to Northern Canada. As well as being an foreseen, achievement, the flight was also a superb piece of promotion for the Virgin brand. The illustrious red and white logo will forever be related to the idea of intrepid adventurers. The risk, some might say, is that if something tragic happened the brand would have somewhat negative images related with it. The 4767.10 miles covered in this particular balloon ride describe a distinguished achievement. They also reached a ground speed of 245 miles per hour which remains a world record.

More recently Vijaypat Singhania took off from downtown Mumbai (previously Bombay) on November 26, 2005. His particular balloon ride into the stratosphere is illustrious as he reached a height of 68,986 feet, which broke the former record of 64,997 feet set by per Linstrand on June 6 1988, in Texas, Usa.

In terms of the longest duration of a balloon ride, Michio Kanda and Hirosuke Tekezawa from Japan hold this accolade, with 50 hours and 38 minutes. This distinguished benchmark was achieved on January 2, 1997.

There are genuinely fewer natural highs than taking a balloon ride on a fine day. If you're lucky adequate to contact a balloon ride on a clear day and you have clear visibility, then all your senses are in for a treat.

See for miles and miles. Maybe you'll take off near to your home, so you can see your local area from a fully separate perspective. You'll feel the wind on your face as you soar upwards, and fresh, clean air in your lungs. Your ears, too, will contact the silence of the air, occasionally broken by an extra burst of gas, lifting you even higher.

You may not feel like trekking across the Pacific Ocean in a hot air balloon, but a more modest flight is sure to be a most memorable experience. genuinely one of the most relaxing ways to travel, many habitancy take balloon rides again and again after their first taste.

The Ten Most base Dog Breeds in the Usa

Choosing a dog can be tough business. You have to rule what you're finding for a dog for (companionship or work?), how large or small of an animal you want as a pet, either you'll keep the canine indoors or make it an face animal; there admittedly are lots of things that go into figuring out which kind of dog to get. Or, you can just go with the masses and get one of the most tasteless dogs. Here are the 10 most popular dogs in America.

Labrador Retrievers take the number one spot as the most popular dog, not just in America but also in the whole world! This lovable and loyal beast makes a breathtaking pet as he'll get along great with children and loves to play, and his intelligence also makes him a safe bet as a working dog.

Usa

The number two spot in 2008 was held by the Yorkshire Terrier, also known as a Yorkie. These micro-sized animals seem to be oblivious to their lack of stature, and tend to be inevitable and adventurous. They are also loving to nearly everyone (strangers included) and love to play.

German Shepherds are fairly large animals (about 2 feet tall and weighing more than 70 lbs) and make not only good pets but breathtaking working dogs. They're extremely entertaining and eager to learn and help. They're often used by Police and search and salvage teams for their great sense of smell.

Much like their cousins the Labrador Retrievers, Gold Retrievers make breathtaking pets for their lovability and loyalty. They're also ranked as the 4thmost entertaining breed of dog, able to learn over 200 commands, words, and sentences.

Beagles love to play, have high amounts of vigor they can use without tiring, and are very friendly toward just about everyone and anyone. These are the reasons that make them the 5thmost commonly bought breed of dog.

Coming in at #6 is the Boxer. Energetic while also regal, this medium sized short hair breed tend to be very good with children.

Dachshunds (also known as Wienerdogs), are very territorial over their families, often growling or even snipping at strangers.

Bulldogs are determined a nice "mascot" animal for it's tenacity and inevitable appearance.

Poodles are very popular for their high intelligence. They're the 2nd most entertaining dog breed, and are very admittedly trained to do tricks.

While being fairly stubborn, the Shih Tzu is a great lapdog, development it the 10th.

Lord of the Arabian Skies

Dubai is a celebrated, rich and sublime land. So is Burj Al Arab, the world's tallest and most lavish hotel on its soil. Both are unparalleled leaders in their own spheres. If Dubai is the monarch of free-trade and infrastructure in the new millennium, then so is Burj Al Arab the lord of hotel industry. They both are unconquered celebrities. One provides the entire world an chance to be successful. While the other, one of the best architectural wonders of all times, displays its grandeur and artistry at the Gulf sea coast.

Measuring 321 m above the seabed, where it was constructed on a small man-made island, the hotel is arguably a very immense structure. The bellowing-sail that it looks like as was the brainchild of the Uk based construction giant, Ws Atkins, who are well known for taking up similar feats elsewhere in the world. They have been actively providing planning, designing, engineering, scheme supervision and consulting services since 1938, when Sir William Atkins had laid their foundation. Burj Al Arab is one of the most ambitious projects they have undertaken until now.

Usa

If you look from the hotel supervision viewpoint, running Burj Al Arab is a daunting task. immense manpower and planning are required to look after the lavishly built 202 lavish hotel rooms on 60 floors. These are no lowly dwellings anyway. They are a part of one of the best hotel accommodations made ready ever. If you were to fly in from a western location such as the Usa, it won't be a pleasing taste at first, stepping out in the heat of Dubai. However, driving over the sandy landscape and seeing at the magnificence of Burj Al Arab from your Rolls Royce is enhancing. The romance of traveling starts making beats from hereon.

Inside the hotel, you will taste an unbound colourfulness phenomenal you. There is so much of gold splattered all around, that you might begin believing Dubai was the sole owner of all the gold artifacts on earth. They have a caring staff seeing after each of your needs from the occasion you have checked in there, which indicates the high standards of assistance they are seeing forward to offer. There are isolate check-in counters on each of those 60 lavish floors, thus providing their customers with unparalleled freedom.

And these living spaces are not just like what you will find at any other five or even six star hotels. The smallest one occupies an area of 169 quadrate metres (1,819 quadrate feet), and the largest one covers 780 quadrate metres (8,396 quadrate feet). The cost of staying in these heavenly suits is equally staggering. You will need to cough out anything from K to over K per night. Still more expensive are the Royal Suites, which cost you 28K per night. The total charge in making of the hotel was never made group by the owners. It has remained a guarded underground until this date.

Burj Al Arab is without doubt the lord of the Arabian skies, and one of the best attraction in this part of the world for the travellers to experience. It also symbolizes Dubai's quest for more wealth and advancement. The quest that the face world would love to be part of. Also underground under is Dubai's desire of being an admired host. A host who could be seen draped in ethnic Arabian values and western influences, both at the same time. From commoners to celebrities, all have experienced this great fusion of cultural diversities. Hope you also get to have a glance of the same in the very near future.
